Past/Current Initiatives:
- Facilitating research (to inform our committees with regulators) via tracking cultivation and processing/manufacturing data from volunteers amongst the membership (anonymity will be dutifully honored)
- Consistent communications with USDA AMS Leadership, ODA, and WSDA
- Submitted official comment for USDA Hemp IFR (7 CFR 990)
- Secured member Directors from Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Montana
Future Initiatives:
- Continue informing on analytical method development of hemp (plant material)
- Begin informing on analytical method development of hemp consumables
- Develop official statement regarding CBD and hemp-derived cannabinoid products
- Prepare legislation based on AWHP goals and priorities and submit legislation to sponsors
- Continue tracking hemp-related legislation either support or opposition
- State-based activity via committees (currently with no budgetary privileges)
